The Power of Focus

Where are your thoughts?

Docs I was doing some training on the power of focus. It is so amazing when our thoughts are directed intently at a specific target what happens. IT EXPLODES! We must remember this with every action we perform no matter how big or small. Where our thoughts and intent are is where we will end up.

I was recently talking with a friend who I had not seen in some time and he was telling me about destroying his knee while downhill skiing. He was up on the mountain for the day with his son and decided to get his boy snowboard lessons and he would go tackle the super black diamond course. He completes the run two times, has just enough time to make a third run so hurries up the hill. As he looks thru the tips of his skis down the huge mountain slope he realizes playing on his ipod is some slow John Mayer song. He hesitates and thinks I should change this tune, but decides not to for lack of time left to complete the run and get to his son before his lessons are complete. Seconds into his decent he hits a mogul and his knee literally explodes! He waits in agony for a passerby to get the ski patrol to pull him down off the mountain. To make matters worse, he has to have micro fracture surgery and miss 6 weeks of practice! Point of this story, WHERE IS YOUR FOCUS? ARE YOU IN THE MOMENT?

What are you thinking about when you are delivering your specific, scientific chiropractic adjustment? Is it the time, weather, your date that evening, or the weather? I hope not! If you want significant change in your patient’s lives, you need to direct that power into the life in front of you and see the bone move before you do anything. Miracle after miracle will happen before your eyes when you are doing this.

What about the time you are spending with your spouse or family. Are you in moment or thinking about what you have to do next? Change your focus and change your life. Everything from patient volume to your relationship with Christ.

The Past is history, the future is a mystery, and a gift from God is the present! Live in it!
