Fisher of Men!
Fisher of Men!
Dr. Paul Reed, Co-Founder
Firm Foundation Coaching, WSCA Corporate Member
You approach from a distance, seeing the monster waves of destruction, ruining all that is in their path. You wonder, will there be any survivors? Has the vessel disappeared to the land of the unknown?
Your pain and nowledge from daily perparation has gifted you with greatness. Your confidence in your ability to save them makes you their only hope. Then, in a faint distance you see hands waving in desperation, reaching out towards you; you're their only hope of survival!
The fear wells up inside your belly as you begin the descent into what could be no return, risking your life for the life of another. You give all that you have to give so that they may live, never, ever questioning why, just filled with hope that they may survive and experience life.
Do you and your team feel you are the patients' or porential patients' only hope of survival? Do you maintain "Mission Mindedness" in all that you do? Does your passion for LIFE pour out of everything? Do people see, feel and hear it?
This is the attitude you must carry during any marketing event you do. Whether you are doing a screening, killer ad, Patient Appreciation Day or walking through the grocery store, your passion and concern for people must pour out.
We must approach each person like we are his or her only hope for survival. Knowing the waves of destruction are larger than life but our continual pursuit of greatness has prepared us for battle. Our fight is not our own, it is one of greater cause. It is our job to be light in darkness to expose people to the "Web of Deception" preventing them from living withing abundance they deserve.
How hard to the other models market themselves without any basis for truth? You hold the Principle of truth. It is said to whom much is given, much is expected. What are you doing with the talents and truths that you have been given? Are you using those to change your community? Or, are you living in fear because the waves are too great for you to enter the water?
Our job as ChiropracTORS is too great for us to limit the size of our catch to the size of our skillet. You should not limit your practice to the size of the four walls surrounding it; but increase it to the size of the need in your community.
We need to think BIG and act even BIGGER. Do not allow your fears to bury the talents and gifts you have been given. Your rewards will be stripped from you for not blessing those in your community with what you have.
If you truly want to become an expert or effective at marketing your office, you need to first develop passion and a mission for why you do what you do. There are lots of thoughts and opinions floating around our communities about what we do as chiropractors. If we are to be effective at anything, we must have 110% purpose for that thing. So to simply go to the mall and do a screening without having a purpose to go do the screening is a waste of time. That time would have been better spent filling your spirit with enthusiasm for your life's mission.
I see this time and again with different doctors I have worked with. I could send them both to the same location, interacting with the same people and get two completely different results. The one who is successful is the one who has a purpose and intent while doing whatever they are doing.
Simply put, it does not matter what events you do for your marketing efforts as long as they are purpose driven. That is how companies go from good to great. The entire team gets behind and supports the company mission. Every thought and act is working toward the completion of that mission. If you develop this attitude with yourself and your team, not only will your marketing get better results, but your referrals will pile through your doors because of your passions and purpose pouring through you.
Remember what BJ Palmer said about marketing your office:
"Early to bed, early to rise, work like h...and advertise."
